TalkToMe! uses Apple's excellent Text-To-Speech capability to simulate speech, and allows you to store common words and phrases for two-click speaking (one click to select the phrase, one click to speak it). TalkToMe! is ideal for people with neurodegenerative diseases like ALS, who have lost their ability to speak, but whose minds remain sharp as ever. You can type the text into the text field, paste it in, or use an on-screen keypad to "click" it in. Once entered, you can "speak" the text by hitting return or by clicking the Speak button.
